Examinations
Sleeping area inspection (9 points-measurement)
The sleeping area requires special attention, as this is where the sensitive regeneration period takes place. Risk factors and stress should therefore be minimized as far as possible.
An examination for constant and alternating fields as well as electromagnetic waves is recommended.
The 9-point measurement has become established in this regard, whereby nine measurement points are recorded at the sleeping place/bed and displayed graphically.
Workplace
Workplaces often have increased exposure to electromagnetic fields due to operational reasons. Employers are obliged to comply with the applicable occupational safety guidelines (DGUV Regulation 15, §2/3 EMFV).
Apartment / House
People spend a large part of their time at home, so stress factors in the living environment should be minimized as much as possible.
The scope of the measurements should be discussed before the investigation. A floor plan of the apartment or house is helpful for this.
Property survey
Before purchasing a plot of land, it is advisable to investigate whether there are any increased external pollutants. This will help you avoid unpleasant surprises later on.
The most common disturbances are:
- Electric and magnetic DC fields generated by subways, trams, and high-voltage direct current transmission (HVDC).
- Alternating electric and magnetic fields caused by power lines or railway systems.
- Electromagnetic waves from mobile phone base stations, radio and television transmitters, and radar installations.
If exposure to magnetic fields is likely, long-term measurements are recommended due to their frequently fluctuating strength.
Documentation
All measurement results are documented and evaluated in a measurement report.
Once the sources of interference have been identified, recommendations for reducing exposure can be discussed.
